12th Open Society Forum focused on EU challenges
Open Estonia Foundation held its traditional 12th successive Open Society Forum on October 10. The forum titled “L’Europe tragique et magnifique – EU at 50. What next?” was inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome and concentrated on the future challenges of EU, its common foreign and defence policies.
The speakers were Mark Leonard, Executive Director of the European Foreign Relations Council, Ivan Krastev, Chairman of the Board of the Liberal Strategies Center located in Sofia, and President Toomas Hendrik Ilves. The forum was part of the day of debates, organized jointly by the Open Estonia Foundation, the President’s Academic Advisory Board, and Pärnu Conferences.
