Call for NGOs in Eastern Europe to promote the rights of infants and young children with disabilities

The Open Society Foundations’ Early Childhood Program (ECP) is announcing a call for proposals from NGOs based in Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia working to promote the rights of infants and young children with disabilities.

The call invites proposals focusing on one of the two themes below:

(a)    Early Childhood Intervention theme - developing early childhood intervention services to support infants and young children, birth to age three, who are at risk of or diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability;

Or

(b)   Mainstream-special school collaboration theme - promoting collaboration between mainstream (general) and special educators, kindergartens or schools to provide meaningful, high quality developmental and educational support for children with disabilities aged 3 to 10 years in inclusive mainstream settings.

Project will be selected through a three-step process, final selections will be made by a panel of experts who will review the full and final proposals due with the ECP by December 1, 2011.
