Civil society excluded from the G20 business meeting

The G20 is a private meeting, hence organisations such as corporations, aid agencies, consumer organisations and other non-government organisations (NGOs) could not attend. It seems this doesn't apply to business. Some of the world’s largest energy and mining companies had full access to all the delegates at a working lunch, and as the inaugural meeting of the Energy and Minerals Business Council is in the same hotel, needless to say there had been more interaction outside of the formal meeting of the G20.
