Finland against Putin

Tomorrow, on June 3, 2009 the Finnish-Russian Civic Forum (FINROSFORUM) will hold a demonstration against the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

The demonstration against Putin’s policies is scheduled to take place at the time of Putin’s official visit to Finland and will begin tomorrow at noon when Putin is to arrive at the House of the Estates in Helsinki.

The demonstrators expect the Finnish government to join in their demand that Russia respect human rights and free all political prisoners.

The Finnish-Russian Civic Forum was established in January 2007 by a group of people concerned about the erosion of democracy and human rights in Russia. The organization strives to promote cooperation between the peoples of Finland and Russia by supporting civic initiatives for democracy, human rights, and freedom of speech.
