Katrin Enno’s contribution to the development of nongovernmental organisations earned high recognition from the President of Estonia

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves honoured Katrin Enno of Open Estonia Foundation with Whitestar IV class decoration.

Katrin Enno worked as Open Estonia Foundation’s program director for Baltic-American Partnership Program since 1997. According to the director of Open Estonia Foundation, Mall Hellam, Katrin Enno’s vision and experience has significantly improved both practices and image of civil society in Estonia. Under Enno’s guidance many organisations received carefully targeted support that has enabled them to become foundation for Estonia’s citizen awareness, volunteering and grass root initiative. “It is truly encouraging to see an award given to someone who has humbly dedicated to the service of civil society,” said Hellam.

Enno’s extensive knowledge has made her one of the most appreciated experts in the matters of NGO practices. Amongst several other engagements, since 2006, she has been a member of consulting group for the Centre for Research and Development of Civil Society in University of Tallinn. Enno’s future plans are engaged with development of civic education program in Open Estonia Foundation.
