OSF-ALBANIA CLOSED TODAY AND MONDAY: OSF-Albania will be closed for holidays on Friday, November 28, and Monday, December 1.

FOUNDATION IN KOSOVO CLOSED TODAY: The Kosova Foundation for Open Society is closed on Friday, November 28, for a national holiday.

U.S. OFFICES CLOSED FOR HOLIDAY: OSI's offices in New York and Washington are closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

CENTER FOR ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN

Soros Open Network Romania (SON)

The Partnership for Equality Center, a SON member, has completed its project to establish the Center for Advancement of Women in the city of Fagaras. The center provides unemployed or disadvantaged women with information and assistance for professional reorientation. The entrepreneurial counseling and training offered by the center assists women seeking to learn how to initiate, develop, and manage a business. The project was financed by the EU through the PHARE program for Enterprise Restructuring and Employment Conversion Programme (RICOP). TRANSLATION PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GOETHE INSTITUTE

International Renaissance Foundation - Kyiv

IRF and the Goethe Institute have launched a joint program to support translations from German into Ukrainian. The program plans to annually assist in the publication of 35 Ukrainian books in the humanities and social sciences, and translations of literature.
