Soros to End Four-Decade Hedge-Fund Career

George Soros has announced that he will convert his hedge fund, Soros Fund Management, into a family office by the end of 2011. The decision to close the hedge fund and no longer manage money for outside investors will not have an impact on the Open Society Foundations.
